Commercial Property Database |
HIB commercial property database is available for use by HIB Fire and Allied members and subscribers. The database houses information for approximately 7,000 buildings and 20,000 tenants. Fire and Allied members and subscribers can request inspections via the HIB website provided they are the insurer on record.

Public Protection Classifications (PPC) |
The Hawaii Insurance Bureau, Inc. has jurisdiction in the state of Hawaii to grade community’s fire suppression capabilities. HIB utilizes ISO’s Fire Suppression Rating Schedule to develop the PPC grades for each community with a qualified fire station.

Electronic Mapping |
On a fee-for-services basis, the Hawaii Insurance Bureau offers an electronic mapping service which identifies the locations and provides key underwriting information such as the Public Protection Classification along with whether there is a fire hydrant within a 1000 feet.

In the state of Hawaii, the Insurance Division requires personal auto insurers to file auto symbols prior to using the symbol to rate policies. Once the symbols are approved they are placed on the website for individual look-ups or the entire spreadsheet is provided in EXCEL format.
